FORMICARIUM IS OUT, NEW MERCH, LIVE ON THURSDAY!
Formicarium is out now!
Our new EP Formicarium is finally here! Some of these songs were written in early 2023 so it is so great to finally see it out in the world. Now that we have spread out across the world it was a very different process from what we were used to to get this finished. Before we could just get together a few times a week and slowly work through things, but we only had 4 weeks together in person this year to make this release. To counter this we had 2 of the songs fully written virtually ahead of time and a bunch of bonus recordings done afterwards. I (Ethan) did my vocals and bass in my apartment back in London after our initial June/July sessions in Chicago. James and Grace did extra vocals and drums for Whispers at James’s studio in August, and Burak and Ela did extra vocals and guitars at their place in the fall. I then assembled everything virtually and added it to the original sessions we had made this summer. It was definitely a lot of extra work and logistical headaches but I’m really proud of how the band pulled together and made what’s easily our best sounding, written, performed etc. release yet.
Now we start the cycle all over again, working on new music and getting it ready to share. We don’t have any timeline in mind (I’m trying to get better about not rushing things) but rest assured we are not going anywhere. You can stream Formicarium on Spotify here and on other platforms here.
New shirts!
We’ve got a brand new shirt design for the first time in over a year! The front of the shirt reps the band and the Cyclical cover while the back pays homage to the breakdown in Ants.
These will be available at our merch stand at concerts (including our show on the second) along with previous shirt designs. We’ll be able to take cash and Zelle so make sure you have one of those if you want to get a shirt. If you aren’t in Chicago and can’t make the show shoot us a dm on Instagram and we’ll see if we can get one sent to you!
Live at Beat Kitchen on Thursday!
Our live show to kick off the new year is under a week away! We are super excited about this one. The entirety of Formicarium will be played along with all the favorites from our first two albums and a few surprises.
